The funeral service for Jo Ann Andrews will be held Monday Jan. 19, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Rochester. The Rev. Dwight LaPine will officiate. Burial will follow at the Milton Cemetery in Milton Township.
Mrs. Andrews, 78, of Pine Island, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island.
Jo Ann Jeanette Taylor was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth and Myrtle (Jones) Taylor. She married David Andrews on June 12, 1964, in Omaha, Neb. In the mid-1960s, the couple moved to Rochester.
Jo Ann enjoyed life, and she loved her family. She was talented in arts and crafts. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rochester, and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Wendy) Andrews of Grand Junction, Colo., and Michael (Polly) Andrews of St. Augustine, Fla.; daughters, Robin (Dr. Allan) Clark of rural Pine Island and Rebecca Sherry of Rochester; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Joyce Brotherton of Byron and C. Kay (John) McCullough of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and two brothers, Phil (Sandy) Taylor and Larry (Sherry) Taylor, both of Council Bluffs.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2009, her parents, and a sister, Judith Woods.
A visitation will be held Sunday, Jan 18, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mahn Family Funeral Homes, Mahler Chapel, in Pine Island. The visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
