Born May 12, 1923, at Turkey Knob, she was the daughter of Mary Pike Taylor of Mount Hope and the late Charles Taylor.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Glorious Church of God in Christ, Mount Hope, was mother of the church, president of the mission, head usher and prayer band leader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Henry Allen, on Nov. 15, 1997; a son, Charles Allen; two sisters, Maxine Campbell and Alese Manns; a brother, Wendell Taylor; and a granddaughter, Tomasa Allen.
Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Glorious Church of God in Christ, Mount Hope, with Bishop John Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Arrangements by Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor, Beckley.
