BLUEFIELD: Catherine Laura Taylor Aliff, age 81, Bluefield, W.Va., passed September 22, 2008. Born October 19, 1926 in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Burl T. and Laura Hicks Taylor.
Mrs. Aliff was a homemaker and attended Deliverance Temple Church. She was a devoted Christian and lived her life by the Word of God through her Bible classes and praised God as a choir director for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Elwood 'Dagwood' Aliff; two sisters, Evelyn Lynch and Pauline Hicks; one brother, Zed Taylor.
Survivors include: One daughter, Rhonda Mitchell and husband Dickie of , Bluefield, W.Va.; one son, Mark E. Aliff and wife Ann of Bluefield, W.Va.; one sister, Eulah Hawley and husband Bennie of Bland, Va.; three grandchildren, Shawn Mitchell, Amanda Aliff, and Misty Neal; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Blaine Aliff and Jaidan Israel Neal.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Bluewell, W.Va. Friends may call Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at her residence, 7708 New Hope Road, 'Littlesburg' Bluefield, W.Va. from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
