She was born July 22, 1926 at Core, a daughter of the late Harley Ray Tennant and Bessie O. Wright Tennant.
Ruth retired from Colshire Manufacturing in Morgantown in 1976. She was a life-long member of the Jakes Run United Methodist Church. Throughout the years she took great pleasure in baking and designing wedding and other special occasion cakes for numerous people. She devoted a lot of time as a caregiver for her parents as well as other relatives.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara & John Wilson and Brenda & Dave Tennant, all of Mooresville, and a son Bruce & Pam Arnett of Jakes Run; eight grandchildren, Lisa & Russ Moore of Canonsburg, PA, Jeff & Lori Pritchard of Kingwood, Teri & Doyle Peters of Jakes Run, Lori Denny of Pittsburgh, PA, Justin & Michele Pritchard of Mooresville; Brady Arnett of Pittsburgh, PA, Marsha Arnett of Arnettsville, and Mindy Arnett of Jakes Run; ten great-grandchildren, Spencer, Trista, Jordan, Jacob, Landry, and Pearson Pritchard, Brendon Botham, Brooke & Victoria Spiroff, and Macy Moore; one brother, Dr. Harry R. & Ann Tennant of Arizona; nieces Beth & Susan Tennant of Arizona, and a nephew Chris Tennant also of Arizona.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death in 2010 by her husband of 64 years, Robert C. Arnett.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with Pastor Robert Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
