The following was published in the Norristown Daily Herald on September 8, 1890. "Judge E. A. Thomas, age 55 years, died at 4:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, at his home near Jeffersonville, where he has lived with his family for the past five years, previous to that time having lived in Wyoming territory, where he was judge of a circut court. Mr. Thomas was a very portly gentleman and has been in rather poor health for many months. About August 1st symptoms of a malignant carbuncle began to develop on the back of the neck. This reached such a state that death ensued after Mr. Thomas had been reduced in weight nearly a hundred pounds. Besides a wife Mr. Thomas leaves a son and daughter. He was a member of Zook Post No. 11 GAR..."
