Elizabeth McCormick Throckmorton, 78, of Mechanicsville, wife of the late Milton E. Throckmorton, departed this life September 10, 2007. She is survived by her two devoted children, Wendy Throckmorton and Keith Throckmorton, both of Mechanicsville; and countless family and friends. Mrs. Throckmorton was a co-founding member of East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary and a lifetime member of The Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squad Auxiliary, where she held several offices at both district and state levels. She was also an honorary life member of East Hanover Volunteer Rescue Squad. Mrs. Throckmorton lived a full life and had a passionate love for the beach. The family received friends Wednesday September 12, and Thursday September 13, 2007 at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd. Funeral services were held Friday September 14, 2007 at Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Cold Harbor Rd., Mechanicsville. Graveside services occurred at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
