Peggy Joyce Tidwell Austin departed this life on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at the age of 77 years and 3 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on July 28, 1939, the daughter of the late Bill and Zubie Austin Tidwell. On December 20, 1958, she was united in marriage to Fredrick Junior Austin, who survives.

Peggy Joyce graduated from Central High School in 1958. She had worked for Crosscountry Apparel and retired from Garan Manufacturing in Adamsville, Tennessee as a machine operator. After retirement she went to work for Cherry's Truck Stop. She loved gospel and country music, loved to read and watch TV. She also loved to spend time with her grandson and her great-grandchildren. She was of Pentecostal belief.

She is survived by daughter, Paula Ann Austin of Savannah, Tennessee; grandson, Anthony Austin and wife, Felicia of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Jacob Franks and Bryan Austin of Savannah, Tennessee, Josha Young of Kennet, Missouri and Trevor Taylor of Belmont, Mississippi; great -great-grandson, Easton Young of Kennet, Missouri; sister, Patsy Choate of Savannah, Tennessee; and brother, Pete Tidwell of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Anthony Austin; sisters, Marie Wilkins and Carolyn Qualls; brothers, Neil Tidwell and Billy (Bug) Tidwell.
