Donald William Tierney was born in Fairfield Connecticut the son of George F. Tierney Sr. and Maryann Smetana. He lived most of his life in the Stratford, Bridgeport and later Shelton areas. He was a US Army Veteran and later a sales manager for Stratford Volkswagen. He married Georgie Ann Porubsky and had three children, Mark E., Scott E., and Michael J. He died unexpectedly on a monday morning in 1974 of a coronary thrombosis.
