Mildred Tilbury Edwards
Mildred Tilbury Edwards, 83, of Bonita, LA, died Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. She was a retired school teacher in Louisiana and Arkansas and owned Yesteryear Antiques in Mer Rouge, LA. She was a member and Sunday School teacher at Bonita First Baptist Church, a member of the WMU, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 148 of Mer Rouge and numerous civic organizations.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Anne Toft and husband Mike of Swartz, LA; three sons, Orval LeRon Edwards and wife Judy of Swartz, Jonathan D. Edwards and wife Donna of Mer Rouge and Douglas Tilbury Edwards and wife Teresa of Sterlington, LA; three daughters-in-law, Helen Tilbury of Decatur, AL, Essie Edwards Hudson of Bastrop, LA, and Dorothy Edwards of Erwinville, LA; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval LeVon Edwards; her parents, Dennie Darius Tilbury and Mary Jessup Tilbury; and four brothers, Albert, Edbert, Leroy and Frank Tilbury.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 18, at 10 a.m. at Bonita First Baptist Church with Revs. Steve Speer and Andy Myrick officiating. Burial was at Wilmot Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Grandsons serving as pallbearers were Lance Edwards, Bradley Toft, Joel Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Samuel Edwards and Jared Edwards. Honorary pallbearers were Nicholas Toft, Kurt Diel and Sean Diel.

Memorials may be made to Bonita First Baptist Church of the Morehouse Parish Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
