No service will be held for Alex J. Tolstoy, who died of heart failure Dec. 29, 1996, at age 67. His ashes will be scattered over the Pacific Ocean. Mr. Tolstoy was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Los Angeles. He lived in Bend most of his life and moved to the Portland area four years ago. He was a carpenter. Survivors include his ex-wife, Phyllis of Newport; sons Greg and Steve of Gresham; Eric of Troutdale; Mark of Tillamook and Richard Regan of Roseville, Cal.; and eight grandchildren. Arrangements are by Autumn Burial and Cremation.
