Born in Pettoranello Di Molise, Italy, she immigrated to the United States in 1950. She was a former member of the Italian American Sportsman Club of Princeton. Carmela was the daughter of the late Camillo and Philomena (Nini) Toto, wife of the late Rocco Carnevale, and mother of the late Ercole Carnevale and Concetta Carnevale.
She is survived by her son, Luigi Carnevale; seven grandchildren, Rocco Carnevale, Nancy Carnevale, Joe Carnevale, Richard Carnevale, Christopher Carnevale, Dante Carnevale, Giulia Stephanik; 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at the Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul's Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton, NJ. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Princeton, NJ.
