Mary Lola Totten Adams, 88, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Houston House.

She was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Houston, daughter of David "Arch" and Lola E. Totten. She and Everett Adams were married Jan. 27, 1939, in Houston.

A lifelong resident of Houston, she graduated from Houston High School in 1937 and worked various jobs in town. She spent most of her working time with Production Credit Association and retired from there in 1980.

She was active for many years in the Texas County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, which she helped found, and remained active in the church all of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother; a sister; and two half-sisters.

Survivors include a son, Steven Adams of Springfield; a daughter, Mary Beth Rime of Lewisville Texas; a grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were Friday, March 13, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
