Ailey,
Mrs. Odessa T. Conner, age 94 of the McGregor-Alston Road, Ailey, died Thursday, July 21, 2011, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Laurens County, living most of her life in Montgomery County, and was a homemaker. She was the oldest living member and longtime "Sunshine Lady" of the McGregor Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Mart B Conner; her parents, G.B. and Bessie Bracewell Towns; a brother, Dale B. Towns; and a great grandson, Tyler J. Stewart.
Mrs. Conner is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Beverly C. and Don M. Thigpen of Ailey; one son and daughter-in-law, Mart Donnie and Deborah W. Conner of Vidalia; four grandchildren, Janet T. Stanley and husband Byron, D. Alan Thigpen and wife Christy C. all of Ailey, Mart W. Conner of Vidalia, and Mandy C. Davenport and husband Terrill of Statesboro; one sister, Nina T. Clifton of Lyons; four great-grandchildren, Conner, Carolina, and Catherine Thigpen, and Anna Stanley all of Ailey; two sisters-in-law, Audrie Conner Joiner and Eudene Conner Stribling both of Atlanta; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 23rd at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend David Blalock officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
