Jack Curtis Tucker, Sr., age 86 of Rome passed away Thursday September 10, 2015 in a Rome Medical Center.
Mr. Tucker was born July 5, 1929, in Cherokee County Alabama, a son of the Andrew Jackson Tucker, and Beulah Godwin Tucker. Mr. Tucker was a member of Calhoun Baptist Church, Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #113 F&AM , he was veteran of the United States Army and retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Gunners Mate serving in WWII, Korean War and the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by Ginger Laree Nicholson, siblings, Era Lee Tucker, James Barto Tucker, Edith Ellie Martin, Aaron Tucker, Kenneth Don Tucker, and Jimmy Lynn Tucker.
Survivor include his wife to whom he was married July 10, 1970, Farry Mae Studdards Tucker, children, Jacquelane Era Tucker, Scottsboro, Al; Deborah Jean (Brian) Nordeen, Asbury, NJ; Jack Curtis (Pam) Tucker, Jr. Scottsboro, Al; sisters Evelyn Mae (Bobby) Tate, Rome; Bobbie Jean (Ralph) Fowler, Subligna; granchildren, Reece McCord Nordeen, Allison Lee Nordeen, Evan Michael Tucker, Cameron Andrew Tucker, Olivia Morgan Tucker, Staff Sergeant, Nicholas Holcomb, Mattie Nicholson, and Nicollett Madison Nicholson.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday September 13, 2015 at Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Branton and Jack Tucker, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hebron Cemetery, near Centre, Al. with Shaklin-Attaway Post Five Honor Guard of the American Legion conducting full military graveside rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Sunday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen, Lee Fowler, Brian Fowler, Evan Tucker, Cameron Tucker, Chris Tate, and Nicholas Holcomb.
