Mary came from England and we assume the Cornwall area. She married William Arthur who was from St Minver, Cornwall on 29 April 1820 in St. Minver, Cornwall, England. To this union 2 children were born: William Jr. & Harriett. The family immigrated to America - sailig to the Port of Bristol from Cornwall where all four members of this famiy boarded the Sailing Ship: Charlotte in May 1831. Arriving at the Port of Boston 07 June 1831. From there they made their way to West Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts where William Arthur was a farmer. Their daughter, Harriett married William Nathanial Arthur there in Massachusetts on 07 April 1859 (are they cousins0?- Harriett and William Nathanial stayed in Massachusetts until the birth of thier first child, a son: William born in March 1860. From Massachusetts they left and made their home in Dewitt, Clinton County, Iowa where William Nathanial was a successful farmer. Mary and her husband William also left West Brookfield, Essex County, Massachusetts to live with their married daughter: Harriett Arthur and family. They are listed in the 1850 & 1860 Federal Census for West Brookfield and in 1870 they are located in Iowa and living with their daughter, Harriett and family. Little is known about their son: William Arthur born in 1823 - he is listed on the Ship Manifest with his parents but not listed with them in the 1850 or 1860 Federal Census.
