Born August 17, 1908 in Gilmanton, the daughter of Dixie C. and Emma M. (Batchelder) Twombly, she was educated in the Gilmanton School System.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. During her early adult years, she was assistant 4H club leader, a member of the Lower Gilmanton Woman's Club and later a member of the Ladies Aid of the United Church of Gilmanton.
For several years, she cooked and served hot lunches at the Gilmanton Iron Works school. She was well known in the area for her apple pies. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, gardening and crocheting afghans.
