Clorinda's parents came to Palestine from Europe in the first half of the 19th Century. Her father, Maximillian Ungar, was an Hungarian and her mother, Maria Passini, came from Modena, Italy. Clorinda married Herbert Edgar Clark in 1882. They had 6 Children but only 2 survived to adulthood, Edgar Herbert in 1895 and Brenda in 1899. After Clorinda's husband died in 1920. Clorinda continued to live in Jerusalem firstly in the house Herbert had built in Mamilla Road and later to a house she had built, Rose Pine Villa. This was heavily bombed during the troubles between the Jews and the Arabs in early 1950s so Clorinda moved to the YMCA to whom she had gifted Herbert's valueable antiquities collection. In 1958 her daughter, Brenda, brought her out to New Zealand where she died shortly after in Auckland, New Zealand.
