Jimmie “Jim” Thomas Vail, Sr., age 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Glenhaven (Sedro-Woolley, Washington) Friday, June 21, 2013. He was born March 09, 1938 in Bellingham, Washington.
After graduating from Bellingham High School in the class of 1956, Jim started his career with the Cement Plant in Bellingham, Washington.
Jimmie T. Vail Sr. married Charlotte Jean Jestor in Fife, Washington on May 14, 1963.
He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, and parents Thomas and Elizabeth Vail; and is survived by his children; Helen Zender (Robert Cox), Mary Larson (Gary), Susan McNielly (Randy), Virginia Vail (Bert Benson), Jimmie Vail Jr. (Dorene), all of Whatcom County and Patricia Barrow (Rodney) of Quilicene, Washington. Ten grandchildren, two great granddaughters, brother Daniel Vail, sister Judy Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was a member of Bellingham Moose Lodge #493 for many years, he also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting, and visiting with friends at the casino.
He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother, and Friend. He had a big heart and a great sense of humor; he will be deeply missed by many.
There will be a Graveside Inurnment at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale for immediate family. A Celebration of His Life will be held Friday, July 26, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Bellingham Moose Lodge #493, 1791 W. Bakerview Road, Bellingham, Washington 98225
