Ann Jewel Hayes beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on October 12 2008 of Aortic Stenosis a heart condition. She was born Ann Jewel Van on January 4, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Ok to the union of Andrew (Jack) Van and Hattie J. Jackson, both preceded her death. Ann accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Dallas, Tx. Ann recieved her formal education in Dallas, Tx. Ann relocated to California in 1962 Where she met and married Earl Hayes Jr. and through that union two children were born Nicole D. Hayes and Michael L. Hayes. Ann was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. She was known for her immense generosity her gleaming personality,and her down home cooking! Ann's life revolved around her love of God, her children her grandson Josiah D. Hayes and her family. ann enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She especially enjoyed her annual bus trips to laughlin, nevada with the Ebony Gents, where she seldom came home empty handed. Ann was a devoted member os South Vermont Ave Baptist Church and loved to felloship and praise God. The day before her demise she attended a bible retreat on Saturday Oct 11, 2008, where she had a wonderful time. After returning home, Ann expressed how she a wonderful time. She complained of being tired but decided to make one last phone call to her sister Gloria. They talked a few minutes, Ann said "goodnight" Then she went to sleep. God called my mother home early Sunday morning Oct 12, 2008. Ann leaves to grieve Nicole, Michael, Josiah, my father Earl, two sisters Gloria and lois. nieces, La kesha, nikka, bridgette,nephews Robert,David,darryl And a very special and close cousin, Donald Wiley of Dallas Tx. And a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Here ends a chapter of a wonderful persons life even though the book will not be quite the same her legacy will still go on through me and the love of her life (her grandson josiah). We miss her like crazy! Mama... untill we meet again at that great family reunion in heaven. I love you! Your Daughter Nicole.
