Born Aug. 15, 1935, in Buffington Township, daughter of the late John C. and M. Hulda Duncan Wagner.
Mrs. Montgomery lived all of her life in the Indiana County area, where she worked for Grace United Methodist Church for 26 years as the financial secretary. Member of Grace United Methodist Church and Cary Class.
Freda was a 1953 graduate of Armagh High School. She enjoyed knitting, traveling and visiting her family. Survived by daughter, Cindy Jacob, and husband, Ronald, Manassas Park, Va.; sons, Thomas Lee Montgomery Jr., Indiana; and John Montgomery, and wife, Susan, Largo, Fla.; grandchildren, LaDonna Jacob Mathis; Kevin Jacob; and Seth, Rachel, Megan and Joshua Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Eli, Nathan and Jeanette Mathis; brothers, Edward Wagner, and wife, Geraldine; and John Wagner, all of Homer City; sisters, Helen Trout, New Florence; Faye Butz, Ebensburg; Anna Strapple, and husband, Edward, Monroeville; and Bertha Nedrich, and husband, Gerald, Ebensburg; sister-in-law, Theresa Wagner, Homer City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lee Montgomery Sr.; brother, Kenneth Wagner; and brothers-in-law, Paul Trout and Stanley Butz.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle Inc., Indiana, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Pastor Kathy Mihoerck, officiating.
