Thora was born 11/9/1928 to John Walker and Valborg (Bjorn) and passed away 5/30/2015 from multiple health issues at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle. She had a brother, Ron (deceased) and a sister Muriel (deceased). She grew up primarily in the Greenlake and Ballard neighborhood. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946. She married a classmate Frank Barth shortly after graduating. The family began to grow with Mark, Susan (who passed at 2yrs old), then Deborah and Michael. They divorced after about 10 years. Being a Ballard girl at heart, while frequenting the old Copper Gate on 24th in Ballard she met the new man in her life. Thorman Moen. Could you ever come up with a better combo of names? She was certainly impressed with him as well as his willingness to accept her 3 children as part of the package. They eventually married, living. in Ballard across the street from St. Alphonsus Church. They had a son there, Larry and then moved to Crown Hill where Thorman built a beautiful house on Mary Ave. A daughter Cynthia followed shortly after. Mom got restless and decided she needed to exert some independence so she went to work for the Seattle School District working in the lunchroom at Marcus Whitman Jr. High School. She enjoyed being productive and contributing to the family's well being and if she took a liking to you she'd sneak you a free cookie at the cashiers stand. All good thing come to an end and they eventually divorced. If it weren't for the fact they lived apart it would be hard to tell they were divorced. Mom retired and spent many years living in Ballard enjoying life. She was a member of the Eagles in Ballard and enjoyed time there as well as volunteering at a Ballard Food Bank. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grand children. After some health issues she moved to a Group Home in Broadview where she has resided for the past 7 years Many thanks to VILLA CARE AFH for the wonderful care they have given her the past 7 years. She is survived by her 5 children and spouses, Mark (Nancy), Deborah, Michael (Mary), Larry (Lisa), Cyndi (John), 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Ave. North at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 6th. A Celebration of Life will follow at the 125th Street Grill 12255 Aurora Ave. North at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice .
