Martha Lea Walker Hughes, 70, of Candler, died Sunday, August 19, 2007, at Autumn Care Nursing Home of Waynesville.

Born on April 29, 1937 in Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Virginia Setzer Walker and was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Walker; brother-in-law, Larry Stanberry; daughter, Virginia Tabor and grandson, Robert Harverson. She was a 1963 graduate of Memorial Mission Hospital School of Nursing and a member of Mount Moriah Wesleyan Church in Candler.

Graveside services will be at Mount Moriah Wesleyan Church Cemetery
