DIED WHILE AT WORK
LARS WALLIN SUCCUMBS TO HEART FAILURE ON THE EAST SIDE.

Dropped Dead After He Had Commenced Work in the Carshops of the Southern Pacific Company.

Lars Wallin, employed in the Southern Pacific carshops at the South End, East Side, dropped dead yesterday morning at about 8:30. It occurred a few minutes after he commenced work for the day, and for a time the occurrence caused quite an excitement among the employes, who ran to the aid of the stricken man. Nothing could be done for him, as he was past all human aid.

The deceased was 62 years old, and a native of Sweden. He leaves a widow and eight children. He had been in the employ of the company at carver and architect for about 2 1/2 years, and was a very capable man. He was well respected by the other employes of the shops, with whom he had for so long been associated. His family consisted of seven daughters and one son. The oldest daughter is the wife of Captain Holmberg, and the son is J.L. Wallin, manager of the Leader Printing & Publishing Company.

Coroner Koebler was notified of the death, and the remains were removed to the morgue. An inquest held last evening showed that death was the result of heart disease.
