Elizabeth S. "Lillian" (Walsh) Porter, 85, of Wilbraham, passed away on Saturday May 7, 2011 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She was born in Belfast, N. Ireland on March 3, 1926 a daughter of the late Samuel and Sarah (Sangster) Walsh. Lillian and her late husband, Samuel Porter, were married in N. Ireland on October 3, 1949 and immigrated to the United States in 1950. She was a resident of Springfield for many years before moving to Wilbraham in 1995. She retired as a Real Estate Broker at Grimaldi and Burdzak Realtors of East Longmeadow and previously worked for Paul Akerman Real Estate. Lillian was a member of the former Old First Church at Court Square in Springfield. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Porter in 1996. She is survived by her children, James Barclay Porter of Ithaca, NY and Sharon Meaney of Wilbraham; her sister, Edna Cartmill of Bainbridge, Ireland; her grandchildren, Toni, Barclay and Trevor Porter and Michael, Sarah and Allison Meaney; and her great grandchildren, Hayden, Devin and Shynathin Porter; and her many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends. At Lillian's request, funeral services and burial are private under the direction of Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road with interment at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, both in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lillian's memory may be sent to the Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, 627 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01119.
