Born in San Francisco to parents Christian and Anna, John moved to Arbuckle in 1923 where he was raised and graduated from Pierce High School in 1938. John and Jean joined together in marriage in 1941. John's only absence from Arbuckle was during his military service in WW II. He was trained in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and shipped to Europe for combat, which included a portion of the Battle of the Bulge and other confrontations. After military service, John resided once again with his wife Jean in Arbuckle, including the last 61 years in the same house on 2nd Street.

John was a wonderful husband and father, in addition to being a successful businessman, as he managed a local fertilizer and insecticide company for 30 years. he was also an active volunteer fireman in the community for 20 years. John has been a well respected individual in the Arbuckle community for life and spread joy and happiness to all who knew him.

Memorial services will be held at graveside in the Arbuckle cemetery at 10:30 a. m. Monday, June 25, 2012 and followed by a celebration of his life at the Arbuckle Fire House. Donations to the Arbuckle Fire Department 506 Lucas Street, Arbuckle, 95912 will be greatly appreciated.
