Mary-11 Elizabeth is the 3rd child of Russell-10 Lewis Warner and his wife Kathryn Elizabeth Crippen.

Mary raised her 2 children by herself with help from her father, sister, and brother through the years.
Her main interests in childhood were: 11 years in 4-H, awarded the Michigan 4-H Key Club award. She enjoyed sewing, and helped her mother with preparing large meals for the harvesters who helped on the 440-acre farm. She had a dog, Mickey, to whom she trained tricks, and they were in a number of local talent shows. As a child, she attended a one-room country school, North Leslie Grade School (Teaspoon Corners) in
Ingham, MI, as did her sister and brother. In highschool, she was on the newspaper and yearbook staff, where she developed a life-long interest in typesetting and graphic design. She played the clarinet in the highschool marching band and orchestra, and was invited to attend Interlochen.
She has an ability to play "by ear," and played her brother's accordion without lessons. She played the family's baby grand piano by laying on her back on the floor and picking out tunes with her toes when just a small child.
Many pleasant vacations were spent with her grandma and grandpa Crippen in Williamston, Ingham, MI. Vacations at her grandma and grandpa Warners, at East Tawas City, MI were very enjoyable, too. Once, as a little kid, she went ice-fishing with her grandpa, John C. Warner, up north. Her first throw of the spear netted her a good-sized fish. The success was wonderful, and she never tried it again.
In 1981, she began a typesetting and graphic design business. Because her work was integral to the quick-printing business, she based her office within an offset print shop. She designed logos, letterheads, brochures and menus. She also designed 4-color artwork for t-shirts.
Years later she enlarged her artistic abilities by working in a bakery, decorating cakes for special occasions. She developed a way to form realistic-looking icing roses and taught many groups of cake decorators how to do that.
When she retired, she turned her interest toward amateur landscaping and flower gardening. She early on learned the value of perennials and flowering shrubs, and has enjoyed gardening ever since--no more planting springtime flats of annuals! She developed a double-daylily garden which is colorful late spring through summer. Her try for an all-blue flower garden taught her to never believe in the gardening catalogs ever again!
She happily worked on a Family Genealogy. It started with the idea of doing just her Warner line--but the idea and interest bloomed, and it looks like there is no end in sight.
