Elizabeth Watson Bernhart, 103, a resident of Old Saybrook died after a brief illness. She was the wife of William Michael Bernhart, who died in 1980. They had been married since 1928. Born in Lexington, MA, Mrs. Bernhart was a graduate of Lexington public schools and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA. She lived in Connecticut (Winsted, West Hartford and Southbury) before moving to Cape Cod in 1988 and then to Old Saybrook in 2004. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Saybrook. Mrs. Bernhart was a former member of the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts, the Society of Conn. Craftsmen, the West Hartford Art League and other art groups. She was an accomplished water colorist and jewelry maker. She is survived by a son, William W. Bernhart and his wife Elizabeth of Old Saybrook; three grandchildren, William T. Bernhart and his wife Janet of Chester, Susan Scott and her husband Mark of Darien and Lawrence Bernhart and his wife Juliet of Tolland; five great grandchildren, Michael Bernhart and his wife Christene, Christopher and Elizabeth Scott, Nathaniel and Alida Bernhart.

A graveside service will be held for the family at Town Hill Cemetery in New Hartford. Memorial tributes may be sent to American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or the Connecticut Humane Society, P.O. Box 41, Quaker Hill, CT 06375.
