Charity Adams.
Mrs. Charity Weed Adams died at her home, 16 Linden Avenue, on Friday morning, March 18, in her 84th year. She was born in Hamptonburgh, N.Y., on July 5, 1843, the daughter of Linas and Harriet Boyd Weed, and moved to this city in 1860. She was married to the late Henry L. Adams on December 4, 1870.
Mrs. Adams from her youth, was deeply interested in music, which was taught with success. She and her husband were members of the Goshen Choral Society and they both sang for many years in the choir of the First Presbyterian Church of this city. She was also chorister of the Sunday school.
For fifty-nine years she was a most faithful and efficient member of the First Presbyterian Church. As teacher in the Sunday school, as organizer and president of the Woman's Missionary Society, and in all of the activities of the church she gave leadership and encouragement. She was notable for her cheerfulness, energy and joy in living. She was a good Christian and a good friend.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her nieces, Mrs. Howard Greenleaf and Mrs. Fannie Walling, of this city, and her nephews, H. B. Keeler and C. A. Keeler, also of this city: Floyd Caskey, of Washington, D.C., Jesse Brown, of Walkill, N. Y., and G. C. Little, of Cranford, N. J.
