Bernice B. Alden, 90, of Cheyenne passed away on July 12.

She was born Sept. 11, 1914, in Guide Rock, Neb.

She married John L. Alden in 1933 in Ericson, Neb.

Bernice was a longtime resident of Cheyenne and a member of Faith United Methodist Church. She had a deep belief in God and participated in many church faith programs for many years. She was a member of the Eagles and a volunteer cookie baker for the Veterans Hospital.

She is the beloved mother of Marlene A. and Pasquale Zumo and John L. and Kathy Alden, all of Cheyenne. She was grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren, Michael and Lori Zumo, Teresa and Ranjit Nath, Kym and Brad Freeman, all of Cheyenne, Christine and Bob Candler of Laramie and Traci and Jim Bush, all of Spangdahlem, Germany Air Force Base. Bernice was great-grandmother to eight beautiful great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Andrew, Jennifer and Divya Nath and Sara Zumo, all of Cheyenne, Ryan and Jason Candler of Laramie, Victoria, Mickale and Patrick Bush, all of Spangdahlem. She is survived by two sisters, Goldie Taylor of Minneapolis, Kan., and Pauline Theriot of Lake Charles, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Alden in 1978; her eldest son, Billy Alden in 1951; her parents, Louie and Nellie Weigel; and three brothers, Charles Weigel, Glen Weigel and Edward Weigel.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes with the Rev. Delbert Hansen officiating.

Family will receive friends at Faith United Methodist Church immediately following the services.

Interment will be in Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ranjit Nath, Bob Candler, Andrew Nath, Brad Freeman, Ron Miley and Mike Zumo.

Friends may contribute to Faith United Methodist Church.
