VIOLA A. BOSCH


May 21, 1934 ~ December 2, 2009


Viola A. Bosch, 75, of Linton, ND, died December 2, 2009 at a Bismarck hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Saturday, December 5, 2009 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, Linton, ND with the Rev. Tom Welk and Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00am to 9:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home, Linton with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Viola was born on a farm near Hague, ND on May 21, 1934 to Leo and Clara (Mastel) Welk. She attended Odessa School through the 8th grade. She married Wendelin I. Bosch on October 18, 1954 at St. Aloysius Church in Emmons County by Fr. Boniface. They farmed in the St. Michaels area for about 1 1/2 years and then moved to the family farmstead east of Linton in 1956, which is still there today. They raised their seven children and farmed there until 1990. They continued to live on the homestead until 1996, when they built their retirement home in Linton. Viola was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Linton and the American Legion Auxiliary. Viola was also a member of Christian Mothers, and sang in the church choir and cantered for many years. She served on the county election board for many years. Viola enjoyed baking, cooking, singing, playing cards and visiting with family and friends and attending church. Her grandchildren meant so much to her and she loved spending time with them. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Beth Bosch of Vadnais Heights, MN, Mitch and Kim Bosch of Wishek, ND and Greg and Lenore Bosch of Linton, ND; four daughters and sons-in-law: Deb and Rod Wald of Bismarck, ND, Patsy and Terry Mathern of Fargo, ND, Sharon and Dan Hartley of West Fargo, ND and Lisa and Jeff Ralph of Wahpeton, ND; her grandchildren: Brian (Sarah), Paul and Riley (Fiance Jayme Bohmbach) Bosch; Wendy (Cody) Schmidt, Travis (Sarah) and Aaron (Ali Biwer) Wald; Tara (Joe) Lewis, Krista (Bryce) Bakkedahl, Joseph and Ethan Mathern; Corey, Kyle (Becky) and Emily Hartley; Kristy, Blake and Kelly Bosch; Jordan, Connor, Austin and Landon Ralph; Sienna and Tiarra Bosch; four great grandchildren: Natalie and Brogan Bosch, Finley Schmidt and Laila Bakkedahl; five brothers and sisters-in-law: Alvin and Donna Welk of Broomall, PA, Paul and Betty Welk of Plainfield, IL, Jim Welk of Cape Girardeau, MO, Father Tom Welk of Wichita, KS, and Tony and Sharon Welk of Bismarck, ND; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Bernadine and John Reis of Bismarck, ND, Aggie and Jack Kaye of Jacksonville, FL, and Marge and Darrell Fischer of Prior Lake, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wendelin on December 15, 2003, one infant brother, Lucas Welk, several in-laws and many nieces and nephews.
