Edna Lucille Adkins, 79, of Cookeville, TN, passed away Dec. 7, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 11 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. Johnny Fox officiated.
Mrs. Adkins was born April 24, 1923, in Cumberland County, the daughter of Charles Monroe and Myrtle Burgess Wells. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son, Lawrence Adkins of Brooksville, FL; stepson, James Adkins of Crossville; grandchildren, Kimberly Hall, Angela Welch, Amber Godsey, Stephen Adkins and Lauren Adkins; great-grandchildren, Wade Hall, Mitchell Hall, Bethany Hall, D.J. Welch and Dustin Welch; sister, Martha Ciprain of California; and brother, George Wells of Crossville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Adkins Jr.; son, Ronald Adkins; brothers, Rob Wells, Willy Wells, Ed Wells and Tom Wells; and sister, Mary Wells Harper.
Pallbearers were Lillard Tallant, Ronald Hall, Kenneth Roberts, Clonis Roberts, Vernon Lack and James Stout.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
