CLARENCE WHITAKER , 82, of 2760 Berryhill, retired truck driver and mechanic for Kroger, died Wednesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Southern Funeral Home with burial in National Cemetery. He leaves his wife, Augusta Whitaker ; a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Hacks of Compton, Calif., and a brother, Damon Whitaker of Memphis.
