Mrs. Anna Laura Whitaker Batey, 70, of Vallejo, CA, formerly of Columbia, TN, died Sunday, August 22, 2010, in Vallejo, CA.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010, at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny L. Anderson Sr. officiating.
Inurnment will be in Rosemount Cemetery.

The Maury County native was the daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Booker Whitaker and the late Rankin Whitaker. She received her education in the Maury County school system graduating from Carver-Smith High School. She was employed by Vallejo City Unified School District as a Paraeducator in special education for 28 years.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother Walter Whitaker.
Survivors include her mother Elizabeth Booker Whitaker; daughters Valencina (Darnell) Spencer of Columbia, TN, and Yolanda Batey of Vallejo, CA; sisters Dorothy Polk of Vallejo, CA, and Stephanie (Gary) Witherspoon of Columbia, TN; brothers Robert Whitaker of Columbia, TN, James Whitaker of Nashville, TN, and Michael (Deborah) Whitaker of Columbia, TN; granddaughter Chasity Timmons; great-grandson Keydrion Timmons, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
