Mildred E. Anderson, 87, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 25, 2008 after a brief illness at a local hospital. She was born on December 2, 1921 in Carrollton, GA, to the late Glen Britain and Lizzie Mae Whitaker.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga she retired from General Electric. She was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church. Her dedication to helping others, sense of humor, and cheerful nature was evident to all who knew her. Mildred was devoted to her family and an avid animal lover. Her smile was freely shared with those she met. She will be missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband James A. Anderson.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Sandra Jerardi and husband, Robert; sister, Betty Walther and husband, Don; and niece, Cynthia Walther all of Chattanooga, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 A.M. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens officiating.

Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. and on Monday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.

Memorial contributions may be made to F.A.I.T.H. Fund at Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
