Born January 7, 1925 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Patrick Henry Williams and Ruth R. Williams. She was elected May Queen in 1941 and graduated from Elmer A. Wolfe School in Union Bridge. Years later, Betty became the manager of the school cafeteria at Elmer A. Wolfe. After 32 years there, she retired from Carroll County Public Schools and worked at Taneytown Bank and Trust for nine years. She loved the seashore, needlework, reading and dearly loved her ice cream. She was a longtime member of Middleburg United Methodist Church, where she played the organ for 17 years. She lived her life by the Golden Rule.
She is survived by three children, Dale L. Repp & wife Maggie, Rebecca R. Reasner & husband Dave, and Elizabeth R. Benjamin; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her loving husband, Betty was preceded in death by a son, Byron W. Repp, her brothers, Robert, Paul, and James Williams, her sister, Naomi Brooks, and a son-in-law, James H. Benjamin.
A funeral service will take place at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 24th at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S Route 15 N in Frederick. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
