Mrs. Ida Louise Etchison, 75, of Taneytown, passed away on April 9, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Clarence "Buck" Etchison, who passed in 2003.

Born in Cumberland, MD, Ida was the daughter of the late Howard L. Williams and Mary Cook. She was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church in Frederick, and worked with Buck on their dairy farm for 30 years. She also worked for Frederick County Public Schools for 15 years before her retirement. A survivor of breast cancer, she never complained. She had unconditional love and compassion for everyone. She enjoyed reading and crocheting gifts for friends and family, and she especially loved her children and grandchildren, and was often on the phone texting with them.

Mrs. Etchison is survived by her four children, William F. Etchison of Taneytown, Julie Burgess & husband William of La Plata, Leah Etchison & husband Mike Milly of Thurmont, and C. Brian Etchison & wife Sandra of Woodsboro; 16 grandchildren, Karie, Carol, Joseph, Jessica, Emily, James, Craig, Kimberly, Ellen, Dawn, Carolyn, Evelyn, Mark, Madeline, Jake, and Benjamin; two brothers, Howard L. Williams, Jr. & wife Dottie, and John Williams; sister-in-law, Pat Williams; 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Williams.

The family will receive friends from 10 - 11 AM on Friday, April 15th at Fredericktowne Baptist Church, 8645 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jonathan Purks will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of Victory Baptist Church, 6513 Himes Ave., Frederick, MD 21703.
