Born May 23, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Howard Williams and Juanita (Jenkins) Williams. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947. She was a retired School Crossing Guard. She was a "prayer warrior" and God's "ambassador." Her mission was to spread the love of God. She was a member of the Gospel Chorus, Inspirational Choir, and the Women's Choir of First Missionary Baptist Church for many years.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Green of Frederick; two grandsons, Joshua M. Spivey of Philadelphia, PA and Isaac J. Barnes of Frederick. She will be remembered by a loving and devoted friend, Alice Smith. Also a number of daughter/son friends, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Green; daughter, Helena C. Walker and one son, Harley Smallwood.
Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 6430 Jefferson Pike, Frederick, MD 21703.
Viewing will be from 9:30 am. Family hour will be held from 10 am to 11 am. and the Homegoing Celebration from 11 am to 12 noon, with Rev. William H. Graham officiating.
Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home. Online condolences may be shared at www.garylrollinsfuneralhome.com.
