While working as cashier at the Liberty Theatre, she met the love of her life, Frederick (Fritz) P. Aichlmayr, and they were married July 29, 1948, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lewiston. They made their home in Lewiston until 1950. She worked at Tony's Diner and Jack's Place during this time.
Mildred and Fritz moved to San Francisco in 1950, where she managed The Do-Nut Bowl restaurant until December 1952. They resided in Fort Ord, Calif., while Fritz was stationed with the U.S. Army until 1954. Then they moved back to Clarkston, where Mildred spent her time as a homemaker, raising her family.
Mildred enjoyed many years at their cabin at Chapman Lake. They spent much of their retirement there fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She loved to fish and hunt, always accompanying Fritz, until her health would not allow it any longer. She also enjoyed flowers, reading and collecting recipes. She was an excellent cook; you could always find a wonderful home-cooked meal on the table.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Cyndi in 2007; her parents, three brothers and her foster parents.
