Ramona Mae Beck, 86, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2015 in Boise, Idaho of natural causes.
She was born on November 17, 1928 in Nampa, Idaho. Ramona was the youngest of three children born to Emmett and Ruth (Peebles) Williams. Ramona, known as Monie to her grandchildren, attended schools in the Happy Valley area and graduated from Nampa High School in 1946. Even up to the last few months of her life, she stayed in regular contact with many of her classmates. She moved to Boise in 1947 where she began a nearly 40 year career as an Executive Administrator with the Department of Employment, State of Idaho. Ramona met Rudy Beck, who also worked for the DOE, and they were married in 1950. Together for nearly 40 years, they enjoyed bowling, golf and were avid Boise State football fans. Traveling with friends and family was also important, especially weekend trips to Las Vegas. Ramona and Rudy had two children, Randall Beck of Seattle, WA, and Rhonda Collins of Boise, ID. Even as a working Mom, Ramona was always fully devoted to her children. Ramona retired in the mid 1980's and Rudy passed away in 1987. She kept very busy volunteering for St. Lukes, honing her sketching skills taking classes, dancing with the "Over 40's" group, meeting with old and new friends, and spending time with her three grandchildren. Ramona loved traveling, and especially loved frequent trips to Jackpot with friends and family. She will be missed.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rudy, and her brothers Bob Williams and Bill Williams. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Randall Beck (Rob Howson), Rhonda Collins (Rich Collins), her three grandchildren Katy Collins, Konnor Collins, Karolyne Collins, and numerous relatives.
We all know that Grandma Monie loved a party, whether it was a birthday party, holiday party, or just a reason to get together with friends and family. Please join us for a Celebration of Life (Open House) Party for Ramona on Sunday, November 22nd from 2:00-5:00 pm at Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village Retirement Community in the Couer d'Alene Room, located at 4037 E Clocktower Lane, Meridian, Idaho 83642.
