Clover Aikens, 89, of Orem, Utah, formerly of Lemhi, Idaho, passed away peacefully at her son's home Thursday June 22, 2017 from complications incident to age.

Clover was born on November 6, 1927 at Lemhi, Idaho, the seventh child of Harry and Mary Mogg Williams. She spent her childhood years on her parent's farm in Lemhi working beside her father in the potato fields. She enjoyed riding her favorite pony Goldie all around the country side. Clover attended school in Lemhi, Salmon and Leadore making many lifelong friends. Clover met Varnie at a dance in Leadore and they were later married on June 22, 1946. They moved to the Clark Hereford Ranch near Salmon where they resided until they moved to their ranch on Hayden Creek Road at Lemhi.

Many people have fond memories of Clover but she was best known as a hard worker and an excellent cook. She worked tirelessly at all aspects of ranch life from nigh calving and lambing to cooking for haying crews at home and throughout the valley. She sought out and worked numerous jobs to supplement the family income whenever she could. Clover had several jobs in Salmon from Wally's Café, switchboard operator for the telephone company and clerk at the Thrift Store. She cooked and cleaned for many families throughout the valley and for Senior Citizens. She enjoyed her employment for the Forest Service as a driver on fires, planting trees, cooking and crew bossing on forest fires and her last position as a Senior Employment Office clerk. Her favorite Forest Service boss was Dick Ward who was very patient and supportive.

Clover dedicated many hours to the election board for Lemhi and loved the social aspect of seeing all of her neighbors and friends as they came to cast their votes.

She loved company and the opportunity to visit; anyone could always plan on a great meal no matter what time you showed up at her house. She could come up with enough food for one or ten extra. Clover was fiercely determined and insisted on living independently despite numerous health challenges until an ankle fracture got the best of her and she needed the assistance of a senior living center. In 2012 she sadly left her lifelong home on Hayden Creek road to reside in a care facility in Rupert, Idaho. There she was close to her son David who was endlessly dedicated to her, when David moved to Utah, she made the decision he was not leaving town without her! She transferred to a care facility in Orem, Utah where she continued to be visited regularly by David and other family as they were able. As the end was near she was taken to David's home in Midway where she was able to pass in a quiet family supported atmosphere.

Clover was preceded in death by her father Harry Williams and her mother Mary Mogg Williams; sisters, Freda (Frank) Mead, Hilda Williams, Alice (Lee) Sedies, Marie (Steamline) Ward, Betty (Ted) Lasewiecz; and brother Harry (Wilma) Williams.

She is survived by her son David (Marva) Aikens; Janet Kibbee; and Ann (Michael) Shahan; her pride and joy in life being 6 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 8 great great-grandchildren.

Clover will be loved, missed and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in the Salmon Cemetery, Salmon, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones & Casey Funeral Home, Salmon, Idaho and Probst Funeral Home, Midway, Utah.
