Lucy A. Wiman, daughter of James and Susan Wiman, was born May 25, 1854; died Oct. 22, 1909, aged 55 years, 4 months and 22 days. She took sick Jan. 8, 1909 and was very patient until death, which she did not fear. She united with the Christian church at an early age and was a faithful member until death.

She was married to R. T. Shoemaker Dec. 6, 1877, and was a true and devoted wife. She leaves a husband, who was near her through all her sickness. Also four children who will miss her face, for she was a loving mother, viz: Mrs. J. T. Lefever, Leslie W., Mrs. Edgar Coulter and Marshall the youngest, and three grandchildren with whom she was very affectionate; also three sisters and two brothers.

Farewell, dear mother, sweet they rest,
Weary with years and worn with pain
Farewell, till in some happy place
We shall behold they face again.

‘Tis ours to miss thee, all our years,
And tender memories of thee keep.
Thine in the Lord to rest, for so
He giveth His beloved sleep.

We week for her; no tender wife
E’er made man’s fireside bright;
No more devoted mother love
E’er kept home altar fires alight.

And she is with the angel host
With sinless heart, and stainless hand,
Waiting to meet her friends to come
To that bright and happy land.
