Mary Wofford Cleveland, of Greenville, SC, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital.

A native of Carnesville, GA, daughter of the late Thomas and Lula Watson Wofford; wife of Dennis Irby Cleveland.

A member of Israel Metropolitan CME Church, where she was named Mother of the Church, and served as a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Society.

A retired nurse who faithfully served the Greenville community for many years.

Also survived by daughters, Rita Cleveland and Yolanda Wells; nieces, Mary Frances Oliver and Christine Williams; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other dear relatives and friends.

Funeral service held at Israel Metropolitan CME Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. J.J. Jackson III; burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held prior to the service.
