Norma W. Anderson
ANDERSON, Norma W. age 89 of Vandalia, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at Hearth & Home of Vandalia. She was born August 11, 1922 in Lena, Ohio, daughter of the late Millard & Lois (Loy) Wolcott. Norma was a devoted elementary school teacher at Vandalia Elementary where she spent over 30 years teaching second and third grades. She was an active member of the Vandalia United Methodist Church, the Vandalia Lioness Club and the Audobon Society. Preceded in death by her husband, James F. Anderson in 1987, Norma is survived by her 2 sons, Carl & wife, Stacy Anderson of Villa Rica, GA and John F. & wife, Zully Anderson of Cocoa, FL; 1 sister, Mary Ellen Woods; 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 11, at the Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Thomas Weeks officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia on Thursday evening from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 300 Memphis, TN 38148 in Norma's memory.
