Alice Wolcott Wall, 91, of Hornbrook, Pa., passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at home with her loved ones by her side. She was born Dec. 5, 1920 in Athens, Pa., a daughter of the late Earl and Grace Morley Wolcott. Alice met her best friend Llilburn "Bill" Wall at a dance. They married on June 27, 1946, and spent 66 years loving, laughing, and dancing together. The couple traveled the United States and the world together. Alice had one priority, raising her family. She also cared for almost anyone who came through her door, stragglers of any kind, including the four-legged ones. She loved rescuing and being around all kinds of animals. Alice lived life to the fullest and was always up for an adventure and if given the opportunity she would create one. She was well known for her honesty and candor. Alice always embraced life and the people in hers with her incredible sense of humor and therefore will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was a Girl Scout leader and was repeatedly drafted as a Home Room Mother. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, hiking, skating "both ice and roller," motorcycling, was always game for all outdoor sports whether summer or winter, and cruises. Alice enjoyed ceramics, cake decorating, needlework, sewing, photography, cooking, and baking. She was a member of the local AARP Chapter, Towanda Senior Citizens, Athens Senior Citizens, former member of Penny Promenaders and Troy Grand Paraders, and Starlight Rounds. She is predeceased by her brother Paul Wolcott and sister Gertrude Sherman. Alice is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Bill Wall at home; daughters Paulette Wall (Gary) Dickerson of Naples, Fla., and Nikki Wall (Michael) Lee of Blue Diamond, Nev., two grandsons Crispin and Jacob; a multitude of grand-animals; three great-grandchildren Eveline, Hailee Moon, and Charlie; sisters-in-law Mary Wolcott of Bloomington, Ill. and Harriet Palumbo of Sayre, Pa.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; her beloved cats Tabby and Tabitha and many friends who shared her life . At Alice's request there will be no calling hours or service. The family is being assisted by Jay E. Lowery Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 225 S. Main St., Athens, Pa. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Guthrie Home Care Services for the wonderful care to Alice and our family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice's memory to: Guthrie Home Care Services, 421 Tomahawk Road, Towanda, PA 18848 or Bradford County Humane Society, P.O. Box 179, Athens, PA 18810.
