Born on June 26, 1934, Beverly was a lifelong resident of Sayre, Pa., graduating from Sayre High School (Class of 1952), beginning her employment career at Park Bakery, and retiring from Guthrie Clinic in 1998 after 22 years of service.
She was known for her kindness, selflessness, and generosity, as well as for being the family matriarch. Beverly enjoyed 63 years of marriage to husband, Leonard, and looked over an extensive direct and extended family.
Beverly is survived by her loving husband, Leonard Shay; son, Bryan (and wife, Esther Carol) Shay; daughter, Crystal (and husband, Dale) Sluyter; beloved granddaughter, Melinda (and husband, Adam) Williams; adoring great-grandchildren, Skylar and Dylan; grandson-in-law, David Conklin; brother, Larry Wolcott; sister-in-law, Alice Wolcott; brother-in-law, Edwin (and wife, Dortha) Shay; sisters-in law, Victoria Todd and Janice Shay; special nephew, Dennis (and wife, Jackie) Sheridan; special family friends, Barbi and Sam Sloat; special friends at Value Energy (Greg Flory, Denise Simonovich, as well as Frank and the gang); several other nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Muir Wolcott and Earl Wolcott; father and mother-in-law, Levi and Gertrude Shay; stepmother-in-law, Thelma Shay; brother, Leman (and wife, Gladys) Eckenstein; brother, Clifford "Buck" (and wife, Jean) Eckenstein; brother Woodrow "Wood" (and wife, Ruth) Wolcott; brother, Charles "Kite" Wolcott; sister, Virginia "Ginner" (and husband, Harold) Sheridan; sister, Hilda (and husband, Bill) Springer; and sister-in-law, Jean Wolcott.
A private service will be held for family members.
