Carol W. Houle, 79, of Winooski died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington after a short illness. She was born in Burlington on May 21, 1930, the daughter of the late Max and Florence (Chloe) Wolcott. Carol graduated from Burlington High School the class of 1948. She was later married on Oct. 1, 1958, to Louis Houle. He later predeceased her on Feb. 4, 1989. She worked for many years in retail at department stores on Church Street in Burlington. Carol is survived by her daughter, Amy Houle of South Burlington; her three grandchildren, Mark Houle, Mike and Max Bordeau; five brothers and sisters, Eben Wolcott of Colchester; Sylvia Brett of Plainfield, David Wolcott of Colchester, Elwin Wolcott and his wife Pricilla of California, Lida Kenyon of Winooski; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Sandra and Leslie. There will be no funeral services. Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
