Sir Alfred Seale Haslam, of Breadsall Priory, died suddenly at St Pancras Hotel, London in the early hours of 13th January 1927 aged 82. He was the founder of The Haslam Foundry and Engineering Co and resided at Breadsall Priory, formerly associated with the Darwin family. There was no church service, but a service for relatives was conducted by the Bishop of Derby in Breadsall Priory at 2pm on Monday 17th January followed by burial in Morley churchyard. A field was opened up adjoining the grave to accommodate the vast number of mourners, which included 300 workmen from the foundry.

Ann Haslam, Alfred’s wife and daughter of Thomas Tatum of Long Eaton, died at Breadsall Priory on 11th March 1924 aged 70. A service was conducted at her home by the Bishop of Derby at 11:45am on Friday 14th March before the coffin was taken by motor hearse in the warm spring sunshine to Morley churchyard where the grave was lined with snowdrops and evergreens.

Alfred Victor Haslam, eldest son of Sir Alfred Seale Haslam, was born on 24th June 1876 and died at his residence, Northfield, Duffield Road, Derby on 28th February 1907.

Miss Edith Hannah Haslam, second daughter of Sir Alfred Seale Haslam, was born in 1881 and died on 26th December 1941 at Breadsall Priory. Her funeral took place at 2:30pm on Tuesday 30th December at Morley Parish Church.

Captain Eric Seale Haslam, son of Sir Alfred Seale Haslam, was born in 1886 and died in 1967.
