Ellen Jane (Woodruff) Berth, age 92 of Southbury, previously of Bridgewater, and New Fairfield, died at her on home Sunday, August 29, 2010. She was the widow of William P. Berth. Mrs. Berth was born September 7, 1917 in Washington, a daughter of the late Clifford and Flora (Seabury) Woodruff. She was a graduate of Washington High School and received an associates degree in nutrition from the former Larson Junior College (Quinnipiac University). Her heart always lived in Washington. Mrs. Berth is survived by her son, William D. Berth of Roxbury; her daughters, Nancy Campbell of Travese City, Mich. and Sarah Bares and her husband, Randall of Torrington; five grandchildren, Jennifer Berth, Nathaniel and Chandelle Campbell, Robert and Amelia Campbell, Jamie and Lisa Bares; a great-grandson, Silas Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Berth; two brothers and their wives, Robert and Margaret Woodruff and Charles and Marion Woodruff. A graveside service will be held in Center Cemetery, Bridgewater Tuesday September 7, 2010 at 11 am. A memorial service will be held in St Mark's Episcopal Church, Bridgewater on Saturday September 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to St Mark's Episcopal Church, 5 Main Street, Bridgewater, CT 06752.
