The State (Columbia, SC) March 10, 2007: Jessie Laconia Yandle, West Columbia - Funeral service for Jessie Laconia Yandle Wright, 92, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, St. Andrews Road, Columbia. Officiating will be Pastor Geoff Kunselman and Dwight Riggs,
Ret. Chaplain, interment will follow in Olympia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. The family will be at the home of James and Mary Cannon, 1434 Jessamine Road, Lexington. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ray Wright, Eddie Wright, Eddie Coker, Ted Wright, Dan Cannon, and Joe Fort. Honorary pallbearers will be the Shepherd's Sunday school class and special friends at the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Wright was born on June 18, 1914, in Columbia, to the late George McDonald and Effie Ella Surrett Yandle. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. She retired from Lowenstein Industries after 44 years of employment. Throughout the years she was involved in numerous supportive efforts in her church and community. Surviving are her sons, Curtis W. Wright (Anne) of Cayce, Ralph W. Wright (Jeanette) of Leesville, George A. Wright of Conway, Albert W. Wright of Williston; daughters, Sarah Coker (Ed) of Columbia, Mary Cannon (James) of Lexington, Betty Fort of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Jean Wright; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and greatgreat- grandchildren; brothers, George B., Walter H., and Jack Yandle; sisters-in-law, Sally Yandle and Irene Yandle. Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Wright, son, James E. Wright, four grandchildren and step-mother, Jessie Mae Cooper Yandle, brothers, J.C., Raymond, Ted, and Luke Yandle, and one sister, Anna Lee Curtis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund, 901 St. Andrews Road, Columbia, SC 29210 or Palmetto Health Hospice, 1400 Pickens Street, Columbia, SC 29202.
