Mrs. Center attended the public schools in Richland County School District One. She joined Zion Chapel Baptist Church No.1 at an early age, most recently serving on the Senior Jubilee Choir until her health failed. She was previously a member of Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Columbia, SC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Heyward Center, and brothers, Ernest Jr. and James Wright.
She is survived by her three loving children: Willie E. (Robin Dreher) Solomon, Linda W. (Artie) Scott, Herbert L. (Angela) Solomon; a granddaughter raised in the home, Monica Shealy, thirteen grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mae Frances (Johnnie) Blocker and Mary Louise Center Grant; and a host of other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly and are saddened by her sudden departure.
